A couple of years ago, I discovered the peculiar pleasures of stacking rocks, particularly making stone walls. This started after landscaping my wife and I did involved laying down some stone and brick pavements. We bought commercial stone to begin with, but started adding old brick and stone from around our house. Then I needed to construct a couple of retaining walls and began to scrounge native stone from further  away. Pretty soon, I had my own stone yard and was hooked. Building with stone is very satisfying and I hope my walls will last a few decades
